Three Things to Ponder

Another Great Forward I could not help sharing with you
.

Three Things To Ponder:

C O W S

Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that during the mad cow epidemic our government could track a single cow, born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she slept in the state of Washington? And, they tracked her calves to their stalls. But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country. Maybe we should give each of them a cow.

T H E C O N S T I T U T I O N

They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq. Why don't we just give them ours? It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it has worked for over 200 years, and we're not using it anymore.

T H E 10 C O MM A N D M E N T S

The real reason that we can't have the Ten Commandments posted in a courthouse is this:

You cannot post 'Thou Shalt Not Steal,' 'Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery,' and 'Thou Shalt Not Lie' in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians...It creates a hostile work environment.

Over the Rainbow...Sometimes there are days like that!

After leaving Kirby's party (see last post) we went to pick up Kayci at Nan and Pop's. The girls wanted to play a little before leaving and I couldn't help snapping some photos of them playing sweetly altogether!
Enjoy!

Spring Fever

It is definitely in the air at our house! The girls....all three of them....are feeling it in a big way! Zoe, who is a never ending source of energy (wish we could package it) is always on the go. She has even swum three times in the cold water (72 degrees). She and Kirby (the little boy I sit) are always outside digging on the stump of a tree that was knocked down by Katrina. They are slowly whittling away at it and Mark is grateful (less work for him)! They get as dirty as Pigpen from Peanuts but they love it!

Hannah, seems to be at the most difficult age right now because she has no patience and plenty of stubbornness. She is also very SET in her ways and finds it hard to see another point of view. She and Zoe tend to argue and fuss a lot of the time yet neither one wants to sleep alone since I moved them in together to make a playroom. I hope that after her third birthday (June) she will mellow a little. She is still my little helper and is very diligent in everything that she does!

Kayci, is slowly coming into her own. She is very laid back like Mark so getting her to accomplish milestones is quite overwhelming for her. She is "crawling" at this point but still has no desire to walk or even try to walk. We are practicing this skill daily and she cries like she's being tortured but is making real progress (she will probably walk at 14 months like Zoe did). She is so funny to watch as she has taken to copying Hannah's rocking style when listening to music. She has also decided to express her discontent when someone upsets her by taking a toy away or bothers her in some way.

All three girls are so different that it is fun for Mark and I to watch and try to pick out who's personality a particular action, expression or comment comes from. Yes, spring is here, and the girls are growing...changing and maturing with each passing day!

Too good not to share....are you feeling me on this one??!!

Presidential candidates, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and John McCain were flying to a “friendly” debate. Barack looked at Hillary, chuckled and said, 'You know, I could throw a $1,000 bill out of the window right now and make somebody very happy.' Hillary shrugged her shoulders and replied, ‘I could throw ten $100 bills out of the window and make ten people very happy.' John added, 'That being the case, I could throw one hundred $50 bills out of the window and make a hundred people very happy.'

Hearing their exchange, the pilot rolled his eyes and said to his co-pilot, 'Such big-shots back there'. I could throw all of them out of the window and make 156 million people very happy.'

Static Electricity

Well living in the south during the spring can be very funny at times should cooler weather decide to impose some physics!!

Hannah was playing outside today with Zoe and decided to take a ride in her "car". I heard "ouch" and went to see what was the matter. amidst Zoe's laughter, I saw this!!! Couldn't help but take a photo!!

Happy Easter/Birthday 2008

Grab a snack and settle in for your little "mini movie". We sandwiched both Easter and Kayci's birthday together for about fifteen minutes of family fun! Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Sweet Kayci

Wow! I can't believe that Kayci has been with us for one year now! I remember when I first saw her.....what a gift! Each one of my girls have made me feel that way as each one has brought a special joy to my life. Although I thought my family was complete with Hannah and Zoe, God had other plans. He brought Kayci into our lives and she has been a wonderful addition! I have been so happy to be able to stay home with her as God also worked that out for us quite beautifully.

Mark and I have never been as satisfied and content as we are right now! It is so exciting to see what each day brings, be it refreshing or tedious, each one is a true blessing! I will have more montages to come as we are celebrating Kayci's birthday party on Easter Sunday so stay tuned!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU 'KAY' 'KAY' WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH!

Update on last post!

Well, the Byetta already appears to be working as my morning blood sugar was lower that it has been since I can remember. It is amazing to me that I am able to control my pancreas and blood sugar and liver without even taking a drop of insulin! "Lizard spit"....who would have thought??!!

Here is the link to the web site about my medication: Byetta

If I'd known.....I'd have been kissing lizards long before now!!

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS SHE TALKING ABOUT??!! I'll bet your asking yourself that question right now!

Well let me explain. Want a prince...kiss a frog! Want help for Insulin Resistance...kiss a lizard.

I have been diagnosed with type two diabetes in the form of insulin resistance and my liver constantly deciding to make sugar whether I need it or not....this has led to pesky weight that I can't seem to loose as well as some other minor problems with blood sugar and cholesterol. Twenty years ago, they would not even considered this to be diabetes. Now, early intervention can hopefully keep me from developing an insulin regimen that I would have to follow.

I am beginning a injection drug called Byetta which is derived from lizard saliva and is not insulin but can be taken in conjunction with insulin if necessary. As of now, I am using a cholesterol diet to treat both the elevated cholesterol as well as the diabetes. Hopefully, I won't have to take cholesterol medication or insulin if I am lucky. She seems hopeful as my blood work is very positive in every other respect! Oh yea, the best part is that Byetta and weight loss are synonymous so YEA!!!! I can get svelte again! It's a win win situation all around!

NO! I haven't kissed any lizards yet and now; hopefully, I won't have to start!

Each one Special...Each one Different

Kayci doing her sweet smile for the camera. She has become quite a camera hound and loves to show off her teeth whenever she can!

Zoe is playing the piano in her 'band'...granted it's a one-man-band but a band nevertheless! She has asked Nan to teach her piano lessons...we will see (smile).

Hannah is taking care of her baby Aubrey. She has two dolls; a small one named baby Aubrey and a larger one named baby Kayci of course!

Well the apple doesn't fall far from the tree in this photo! Hannah is working with mama getting that house clean! She has quite an attachment to the vacuum as we clean quite a bit around here! Still it is funny to watch as I am quite sure she is the only 2 year old who cares if the house is clean (smile).
