DEJA VU

Feels that way to me. On yesterday's post I wrote that Zoe had lost her first tooth. Well today, she lost her other one. It was also very loose and ready to come out but I figured two teeth was to much to ask of her at one time. This one came out by way of sticker books...dinosaur and spider informational sticker books to be exact!

Well she is thrilled because now she can drink from a straw; slurp up spaghetti; eat pretzel sticks; and whistle all without opening her mouth!

No more teeth are loose at present so I have some time to decide on other motivational techniques to apply for next time. As for Zoe, it's tooth fairy magic time...SMILE!!

Zoe's lost her first tooth!!

Well it was an ordeal I tell you!! It's just killing me as I wiggle it because it's SO loose and then she almost lets me pull it....but then not quite. However, I finally coaxed it out of her mouth with the promise of ice cream. After I pulled it out she called Nan and told her all about it in detail. "Nan, mommy pulled my tooth and it didn't hurt at all; it was just easy..." She proudly showed her sister to which Hannah exclaimed, "Cool!"

We talked to the tooth fairy and asked if she could come tomorrow night to get the tooth because Zoe wanted to take it to school tomorrow for show and tell.

Anyway, here is a picture of the missing tooth smile!

Yo Gabba Gabba What??!!

The girls have discovered a wacky kids show that has a 60s-70s style about it. It's called, 'Yo Gabba Gabba' and it teaches all kinds of life lessons and moralities in a fun, positive way. It is definitely one of those, "love it or hate it shows", as it either grows on you or not! We have every show on TIVO but the Halloween episode---which was Mark's favorite one--it got deleted by mistake by one of our little darlings.
Anyway, Paige, my sister had been asking what Yo Gabba Gabba was so...well...here ya go!

Shirley Goodnest and Marcy

Oh I am SO here with this story and Zoe at the moment! I also remember getting some "doozies" when I taught Kindergarten. You gotta love kids even when they drive you crazy...I sure love mine! Enjoy the read.

A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him.

She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was
safe. So she had an idea of how to handle it.

She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings,
staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her. She said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed. The next school day, the neighbor and her little girl set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor girl he knew.

She did this for the whole week. As the two walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy’s little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week.

Finally she said to Timmy, 'Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week?
Do you know her?'

Timmy nonchalantly replied, 'Yeah, I know who she is.'

The little girl said, 'Well, who is she?'

'That's just Shirley Goodnest,' Timmy replied, 'and her daughter Marcy.' 'Shirley Goodnest? Who is she and why is she following us?' 'Well,' Timmy explained, 'every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much. And in the Psalm, it says, 'Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my life',
so I guess I'll just have to get used to it!'

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you, and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace.

My Graduate

Zoe will be graduating from Preschool in four short weeks. I can't believe how the time has flown. It really seems like yesterday that I was bringing her home from the hospital to our condo. Wow have things changed since then. She is now my eldest girl with two wonderful sisters. I am so proud of all the things she has accomplished these five years and I think that Hannah and Kayci couldn't ask for a better sister! Here she is in her graduation photo...she is so proud of herself...mommy and daddy are proud too!

New post on Footsteps that's worth the read!!

My Littlest Angel

These are some pictures of Kayci that I took today. It is so funny to see her in the same outfit that Zoe wore when Hannah was born. She is growing up so big and beautiful...some partiality exists here... She has the bluest eyes...she is my sweet little "Kayadoodledoo".

The Battle of the Sausage Log

In Christmas's past our neighbor, David Hobgood, would bring over a sausage log that he had made from scratch. It was always so good and we looked forward to it every year.

Well, my father and I finally got the recipe from David...after swearing to utter secrecy...and began to make it ourselves. As the "cook" I felt perfectly able to make a log to smite any other...meaning Dad's. It finally became a competition as to who could make the better log. For a while I though I had him too; however, after today I have relinquished the crown of the sausage log king to dad!

Hannah and Her Cake

Bless her heart....you'd think that I never fed her. She is like her daddy in that she LOVES lemon pound cake. Nan made one as Mark's belated birthday cake for Sunday Dinner. Most was eaten; however, the small piece remaining Hannah quickly located this morning and devoured as you will see!

A Pleasant Evening

A sultrily sun sets amongst the trees as crisp breezes dance in the April air. I am relaxed in a deck chair senses alive with smells from the outside; rich woody grill smoke; flickering candles; relaxing conversation; all followed by a fabulous meal while soft blues plays in the background.

I enjoy the break from the ordinary...the time I get to spend with family...all seated around the deck fire pit stargazing and chatting.

Thank you Tom and Dee for the comfort of a pleasant evening

Kayci's Newest Happenings

Kayci, my youngest charmed one, has decided to try a couple of new things. First, she has decided that walking may be a better way of getting around as she is now cruising the furniture. Secondly, after watching her older sisters in the "big" tub, she has decided to try it out for herself...she loved it!!

I am sure that she has even more surprises waiting for us just around the bend...I can't wait!

Frozen In Place...

This was a very neat forward that was sent to me. These people were not making a protest statement....they had nothing to say...just fun for the sake of reaction. Perhaps an April Fool's Day prank? Nevertheless, the reactions of those NOT involved was quite hysterical!

The Mark Chronicles...Chapter Three: Happy Birthday Sweetness!

Birthday... a special day, set aside for celebrating one's birth. As children, we'd wait with fevered anticipation yet as we got, "more mature", we weren't quite as enamored with it. However; for me, today this word takes on fresh meaning.

My sweet husband, Mark, was born on this date. As I contemplated that, I thought about what a monumental impact his birth has made. His birth and growth, as well as the events that occurred to help shape him, made him into the person he is today. His thoughts and feelings are unique unto him and his personality and nature are a special part of who he is. At some point God began to mold his heart, tenderly preparing him for the husband and father he would eventually become. When God felt he was ready, he guided him to me. Had Mark never been born, I would never have seen the fruits of a culmination of works, both heavenly and human.

I am more grateful than words could ever express having been given such a wonderful gift in Mark. I stand both unworthy and undeserving of such a precious man; yet, God saw fit to share him with me. We are thrice blessed also by our girls that God has gifted to us. They are the very expression of our love as well as it's extension.

On this, your birthday Mark, I'd like to tell you how much I love you and how proud I am to be your wife and mother of your children. I marvel at the wonder that is uniquely you. I pray that God will grant us many more years to celebrate the date of your birth as it was truly the best gift I have ever received.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETNESS!!

Rain

Into life a little of it must fall, which is usually interpreted as a negative idea. I'd like to 'drench' you in a new perspective on this old adage.

First, actual rain, USUALLY brings much needed relief from hot days and balmy nights. In life, have you ever experienced a much needed break from the mundane through a surprise or happy circumstance? That's rain.

Second, physical rain nourishes plants, replenishes water sources, and sustains both humans and animals alike. Through personal experiences, vicissitudinal though they can be, how many of us have grown, changed or been strengthened. That's rain.

Finally, rain comes and goes and is USUALLY not noteworthy unless it is absent for too long. The same is true for life. Happenstance brings circumstances that flow through our lives but without them we would be as dry and parched as the desert air.

A life without rain...well I wouldn't recommend it. It has been, at least for me, one of my most precious commodities.
